Nathan Haslett, 2014, graduated from Trinidad State College with an associate degree in nursing as an older, non-traditional student. His first nursing position was at San Luis Valley Health in the surgical department. During this time, he began Bachelor of Science courses and earned his nursing degree from Grand Canyon University in January 2016. In March 2019, Nathan transferred to the third-floor ICU department and enrolled in the Western Governors University Master of Science Degree Program. While engaging in work and studies, he also started teaching as an adjunct instructor in human nutrition for Trinidad State College. In mid-August 2022, Nathan was hired as a full-time nursing instructor at TSC and was awarded his Master’s Degree in Nursing Instruction in October 2020. Nathan continues to teach nursing at TSC, which he credits for changing his life. He has been married to his wife, Renae Haslett, for 26 years and has a child, Alexandria. Some hobbies Nathan enjoys are rebuilding automobiles, traveling, and creative woodworking. Continuing to seek new opportunities, always looking forward, and caring for others are his personal values.
